Screen-space materials for camera and perception
Post process materials operate on the final frame, so their graphs need to be especially clear. Depth masks, scene texture reads, edge outlines, color grading tricks, scanlines, glitch passes, focus effects, and custom stencil treatments are useful only when another artist can tell which part samples the scene and which part shapes the visual result. Clear naming matters here because a small mistake can affect the whole viewport.
This category is for camera-facing effects rather than surface shaders. Useful posts include lightweight outlines, distance fog masks, hit-direction flashes, VHS or CRT treatments, underwater distortion, night vision, and depth-based fades. The best post process graphs show restraint: expose intensity, threshold, color, and blend controls, and make it obvious when an effect depends on custom depth, stencil values, scene color, or screen UV assumptions.
