Decal graphs for projected detail and localized wear

Decal materials add information to a scene without changing the base asset. Stains, labels, warning marks, leaks, scratches, bullet impacts, edge wear, and grime overlays all belong here when the graph is meant to project or layer onto existing surfaces. Useful decal graphs keep opacity, normal contribution, color tint, roughness changes, and mask breakup separated so the effect can be tuned per placement.

Good decal materials are usually narrow and practical. A small leak decal with adjustable streak length can be more valuable than a large master with too many hidden branches. UE5 decal work also benefits from clear blend-mode expectations: whether the graph is meant for DBuffer decals, translucent overlays, mesh decals, or a material-function-style mask that gets mixed into another surface. The more specific the graph, the easier it is to reuse.
